Richard J. Daley College is a public, two-year community college on the South Side of Chicago near Midway Airport.  It is one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago and was originally founded as William J. Bogan Junior College in 1960. In 1976, a week after the death of Richard J. Daley, the college was renamed in honor of the late mayor. Daley College is City Colleges of Chicago's hub for Advanced Manufacturing.

Daley College has a satellite campus named The Arturo Velasquez Institute (AVI).  AVI opened it's doors in 1996 as Westside Technical Institute (WSTI).  In 2007, WSTI was renamed Arturo Velasquez Institute (AVI) in honor of community leader Arturo Velasquez, who was the first Mexican American to serve on the City Colleges of Chicago Board of Trustees.  AVI offering a variety of technical and work-skills programs for community residents, including a horticulture partnership with Windy City Harvest.
